Bleach, Beads & Butterflies

…what a combo… LOL

Today’s card is for the Limited Supplies Challenge on SCS: Do It Yourself - Designer Paper… My kind of challenge - I can play with lots of stuff (girl has stuff, must be used)! You can view the challenge here -> http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=339672

Bleach, Beads & Butterflies:

A few details - the flower and butterfly are Prismacolor and gamsol, beads are added to the “book binding“. The flower image is only half of what is on the stamp - I cut half of it off to show more of the background paper. There are a lot of layers/dimensionals on this card.

The Beads:

Close up of the DIY Designer Paper:

There are a number of steps to the designer paper - here they are:

Start with Mellow Moss Card Stock
Sponge Weathered Wood, Tea Dye ink - don’t cover completely
Place hand in water glass and “flick” water on the paper
Stamp vein image with Choc Chip ink
Get old/flat dish, paper towel and Beach - yep - create your own bleach stamp pad
Stamp butterfly image randomly - let dry
Use colors from flower to lightly color bleached butterflies

Fun, fun, fun - I like doing this type of technique - just go and let it happen, reject some, love other pieces and make a mess. Yes, I am a messy stamper. As you can see here:

You can see some of the paper that I rejected - I hope to use this for another project - one is too dark, the other too bright - I thought this one was just right *wink*.

Since I am messy I have one rule that I stick to… I CLEAN UP the mess from this project before I start another! If I don’t I can’t find anything!
